Final Blog

If I had to do something the same next quarter, it'd probablly be my praticipation. I try to interact as much as I can in class. The thing that I would change for next quarter, is to no t be so lazy, but keep trying hard. Mr. Fournier's grade goes by exactly what I've done in class, I have tried in the class, but not recently. That needs to change. I showed myself that I can do the work and I can do it right. I just need to put out the effort. I think I became best at inequalitties. They seem to be very easy to solve for me. Honestly, I liked algebra class this quarter. I really don't know what I would change, at all. If I had to make a call to someone who was about to take this course how to pass, All I'd say is to pay attention, do your work, and you WILL pass. Bottom line. On all of my projects this quarter I seemed to learn how to do at least something. Glogster was  the standard deviation, and the box and whisker. On the Virus project, was how to figure out my points in equations and on my rumor project I learned how to use blabberize. Haha I've enjoyed this class.

Virus Project

There was a virus around school called The Pig Flu, also known as H2N2. This disease causes you're flesh to rot from the inside out. It can be transmitted by the slightest touch or even fingerprint that some has left behind that had already had the disease. It's up to you to find the points and help us get rid of this terrible disease!

Grades

I think I make an effort in and out of the classroom to keep my grade stable. I do my homework everynight and try to participate and get answers right and help people that don't, to get the answers right. I think it is unfare where my grade is at now because of my lack of help. I think I have worked very hard and have received no he lp whatsoever. I think that we shouldn't have group work as often anymore. My goals for the beginning of the school year were to get in and pass every class and I am doing so. I think there's alot benefits by knowing your grade all of the time, the main one though is that you can know what you need to do to pass the class. If you do your work, and participate a little bit I believe you can pass the class. I am doing everything I can to keep my grade up in the class. I've been sticking to my goals by completeing assignments. I learned mostly this week how much tougher inequalities were than I thought. The little/big giant project could be applied to the real world if you needed to compare sizes, and percentages based on their size. I feel that I do understand everything we covered except for the little/big giant project. I just don't understand how to transfer the data. I asked about it some, but I think everything about it needs to be explained to me again. I'd give myself an A, I think I've been trying my hardest and comprehending the information well. I'd give Mr. Fournier an A as well, he tries to help us as much as possible.

Blog Reflection #3

The projects that we've been doing class wouldn't be so bad, if people would actually hep me. It seems like everytime there's group work, I end up doing all the work by myself and that bothers me. I thought the inequalities would be easier, but they were not at all, that was the most challenging thing for me. There was opportunities in class and at home with the worksheets to learn inqualities. I feel like I did learn how to do them, the undefined one I had really messed me up. Next time I have a project I'd rather us not have them in groups, for the reason that my grade is alot lower from lack of help.

Week 3 Reflections

I approached the class pretty much the same way I did last week, and I think everything's going pretty well. I think using the technology we use in class with Blogger, Edmodo, and Glogster, things are alot easier for us to comprehend. ecspecially with how much everyone is on the computer these days. We move around alot too which can really help us not get so tired. It's very hands-on and I think that helps everyone in the classroom. Our graphing calculators are very handy I enjoy having something that can get the answer without having to take time to work everything out. But, I do think everyone in the class should know how to work out the problems without relying on a calculator or Wolfram. Because, there will be occasions when we are not able to use them. My favorite part about the class so far is that we always have group activities and are able to interact with everyone in the class, and I never tohught I'd say this, but we actually have fun learning. We go out to the hallyway and jump around and shoot tweaties, there's nothing I could really complain about in this class. I don't think that even if I was a math teacher that I would be able to interact with the students and have the kids having as much fun as Mr. Fourneir has with us. All the games we play, and just the way he teaches things and has the classmates teach each other is really cool. Mathematicians show their work when they solve a problem so that they can prove that their answer is right. I don't have too many problems with equations unless they're word problems that you have to plug the numbers in, I have trouble setting those up. Plug numbers in for X and see if you can make a proper line to cross on your answer.

2 Week Reflections

I have enjoyed this math class the last two weeks because of the hands on environment. I enjoy how we do everything together instead of just him giving us an assignment and telling us to get started. I like the way the class is set up, it helps me learn the best. The project went okay, I just didn't like how time consuming it was.I feel like I supported the team alot, I think we should have different jobs on the next one. I like how we play games and have fun with learning. I hate when teachers just go over things and make us do work. Mr. F really makes us think about things.I'd like to continue with the hands-on approach. He makes us think which really helps everyone in the class more. He actually cares about the kids in the classroom, like weather they pass or not.
